"The Way They Learn" continued this morning with Cynthia Tobias. She opened the morning by allowing an interactive discussion regarding her presentation the night before. It was interesting how many of the audience was able to associate with what she was saying. Before we left for break Cynthia left us with a few tips:

1. Give students a chance to interact at least one time every 15-20 minutes, even if it’s only for 1-2 minutes a time.
2. Give kids a chance to learn about the way they learn best—this will at least give the students the knowledge of how to set up a study environment at home.
3. Give kids good things to talk about—when we teach something significant, a murmur breaks out—you have just taught something, so give them a chance to talk about it. The noise level is a good indicator of how well the students get the concept.
4. Give kinesthetic learners’ two assigned seats, one in the front and one in the back. Let them move between the chairs at their convenience.
