Man talking in front of students

Last week, Paul Schuytema, Director of the Economic Development Alliance of Lincoln County, visited Toledo Jr./Sr. High as a guest speaker for the school’s Career Connections program. Schuytema shared insights from his former career as a computer game designer and business owner, giving students a behind-the-scenes look at the creativity, technical skills, and entrepreneurship involved in the gaming industry.

Career Connections at Toledo Jr./Sr. High and Waldport Middle/High School brings community professionals into classrooms to talk with students about their experiences and explore career pathways after high school. The program is supported by a seven-year grant awarded in 2023 by Oregon GEAR UP, helping expand college and career readiness opportunities for students across the district.

We’re grateful to our community partners who help students see what’s possible beyond graduation!
