Lincoln County School District recently celebrated seven students who completed the district’s S.T.E.P. Youth Transitional Program at Taft 7-12 and Newport High School. Formerly called PACE and ECEL, the program helps students with disabilities transition from school into adulthood by focusing on functional academics, life skills, vocational training, and community experiences.
During the Aging Out celebration, students gave presentations highlighting the skills they developed through the program, as well as their hobbies, interests, talents, and future plans.
The event also recognized the dedication of special education teachers, educational assistants, transition specialists, and support staff who helped guide and encourage students throughout their journey. Congratulations to Allen, Emmanuel, Gavin, Nick, Sage, Brian and Alexavier!
